Anhui University of Science and Technology is a provincial public university in Huainan, Anhui Province, China, founded in 1945 and co-built by the Anhui Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Emergency Management.安徽理工大学是一所位于中国安徽省淮南市的省属公立大学，创建于1945年，由安徽省人民政府与应急管理部共建。

It is the oldest engineering institution in Anhui and shares its origin with Hefei University of Technology, and it operates campuses in Huainan and Hefei with more than 40,000 full-time students.学校是安徽省第一所工科高校，与合肥工业大学同根同源，现有淮南和合肥两个校区，全日制在校生超过4万人。

Safety science and engineering is its flagship discipline, rated A-class in China's fifth round of discipline evaluation, and the university hosts two national key laboratories on coal mining safety and unmanned coal mining technology.安全科学与工程是学校的旗舰学科，在全国第五轮学科评估中获评A类，学校还建有深部煤炭安全开采与煤炭无人化开采两个全国重点实验室。

History

• The university was founded in 1945 as the Anhui Provincial Bengbu Industrial Vocational School, one of only two institutions of higher education existing in Anhui Province at the end of the war against Japan.学校创建于1945年，前身为安徽省立蚌埠工业职业学校，是抗战胜利前后安徽省仅有的两所高等院校之一。
• In 1947 the school moved to Dongshan in Huainan and was upgraded to the Anhui Provincial Industrial College, an event the university describes as the beginning of modern higher engineering education in Anhui.1947年学校迁至淮南洞山，升格为安徽省立工业专科学校，校方称此举开启了安徽省现代高等工科教育的先河。
