Andrea Morello

Andrea Morello (born 26 June 1972) is an Italian-born physicist and electrical engineer who holds the Scientia Professorship of Quantum Engineering at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

He leads the Quantum Spin Control group at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology and builds qubits from the spins of single phosphorus donor atoms in silicon. (ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology)领导量子自旋操控课题组,用硅中单个磷施主原子的自旋构造量子比特。

His team performed the first single-shot readout of an electron spin in silicon and created the first electron and nuclear spin qubits based on a single atom in that material.
