Amyloid-related imaging abnormalities

Amyloid-related imaging abnormalities, abbreviated ARIA, are characteristic abnormalities seen on magnetic resonance imaging of the brain in patients receiving anti-amyloid immunotherapy for Alzheimer disease.

Two forms are recognised, ARIA-E with vasogenic oedema or sulcal effusion and ARIA-H with microhaemorrhage or superficial siderosis, and both may be asymptomatic or clinically severe.
