Alcoholic hallucinosis

Alcoholic hallucinosis is an alcohol-induced psychotic disorder in which prominent auditory hallucinations, usually accusatory or threatening voices, arise during or shortly after heavy drinking in a person with long-standing alcohol dependence.

Consciousness and orientation are characteristically preserved, which separates the disorder from delirium tremens, and the hallucinations usually resolve within days to weeks with abstinence.
