AI Magazine is the official journal of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, a quarterly open access title published by Wiley on behalf of the association, and it is written as an expository magazine for readers who work across the whole of the field.《人工智能杂志》是美国人工智能促进协会的官方刊物，由 Wiley 代表协会出版，是一份季刊型的完全开放获取刊物，写法上走的是科普解说路线，读者遍及整个领域。

Scope

• The stated purpose is to disseminate timely and informative expository articles that represent the current state of the art in artificial intelligence and to keep readers posted on association matters.该刊自述的宗旨是传播及时而富于信息量的解说性文章，用以呈现人工智能的最新水平，也让读者了解协会的各项动态。

• Articles are selected for their appeal to readers engaged in research and applications across the broad spectrum of the field, and although some technical understanding is assumed of the authors, the writing has to be clear enough for readers who work outside the particular subject area.文章挑选的标准是能吸引在人工智能广阔领域从事研究与应用的读者，虽然默认作者具备一定的技术理解，文字仍须清楚到让专业方向之外的读者也能读懂。

• Regular features include expository feature articles, workshop and symposium and conference summaries, editorials, association news, letters to the editor, forum discussions, a calendar of events, recruitment and product advertising, and columns on worldwide activity, industry and competitions.常规栏目包括解说性专题文章与各类会议综述，另有社论与协会新闻、读者来信与论坛讨论，活动日历与招聘广告也占一席之地，全球动态、产业与竞赛另有专栏。

• The magazine publishes original articles that are reasonably self contained and aimed at a broad spectrum of the community, keeps technical content to a minimum, and does not publish material that has appeared elsewhere in whole or in part.杂志刊登面向整个社群的原创文章，要求文章大体自足，技术内容压到最低，同样内容此前若已全部或部分发表过则不再刊登。

• Every accepted article is professionally copy edited, all figures and tables are rendered by a professional graphic artist, and the copy desk checks format, organisation, spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity and the use of abbreviations and symbols.每篇录用文章都由专业文字编辑加工，图表由专业美术人员绘制，文字台还要核对格式与结构，逐字检查拼写与语法，标点与表述清晰度也在其列，缩写与符号的使用同样要过一遍。

• The association requires transfer of copyright for all material published in the magazine, permission is needed to republish material that has appeared in it, and authors are granted back specific rights set out in the association's own copyright form.协会要求把杂志所载全部材料的著作权转让给协会，重刊已发表内容须先取得许可，作者则按协会版权表格约定的条款拿回若干项具体权利。

History

• The journal was founded in 1980 by the association, which was itself set up in 1979 and was known for many years under the older name American Association for Artificial Intelligence.该刊由协会于 1980 年创办，协会本身成立于 1979 年，多年来沿用的是旧名美国人工智能促进协会。

• The first issue carried the volume and number notation of a magazine rather than a research journal and appeared in the spring of 1980, and the catalogue record places the imprint in La Canada, California.创刊号采用杂志式的卷期编号而非研究期刊的体例，出版于 1980 年春季，编目记录把刊载地记在加利福尼亚州拉加拿大。

• The catalogue record notes that issues from 1990 onwards carry a supplement on the review of products, services and research, which had its own identifier, and it records the frequency as four issues a year.编目记录注明 1990 年起的各期附有一份评论增刊，主题是产品、服务与研究的评论，该增刊有独立标识符，同时把刊期记为每年四期。

• The journal is led by two coeditors in chief, (Odd Erik Gundersen) of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and (K.
