Agronomy for Sustainable Development (commonly abbreviated Agron. Sustain. Dev.) is a bimonthly agricultural sciences journal published on behalf of the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, carrying research on sustainable agricultural systems, with manuscripts written in English.Agronomy for Sustainable Development(常用缩写 Agron. Sustain. Dev.)

Scope

The aims stated on the journal website are to publish literature at the interface of agronomy, cropping and farming system research with ecological, genetic, environmental, economic or social sciences, and the journal commits itself to publishing high-quality research and reviews that provide novel insights.

The journal's most distinctive feature is its interdisciplinary position. It welcomes monodisciplinary work in agronomy that establishes the grounds of sustainability, and equally encourages multidisciplinary articles bridging agronomy with ecology, the environmental sciences and the social sciences, while requiring manuscripts to demonstrate a clear scientific breakthrough relative to current knowledge. According to the journal's own account, more than half of the articles published in 2025 were related to at least one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
