Acta Physiologica
Acta Physiologica is a monthly journal published by Wiley on behalf of the Scandinavian Physiological Society and is the official journal of the Federation of European Physiological Societies, tracing its origin to 1889 and carrying a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 5.7.《生理学学报》(Acta Physiologica)由(Wiley)代表斯堪的纳维亚生理学会出版,并为欧洲生理学会联合会的官方期刊,渊源可追溯至 1889 年,2025 年期刊影响因子为 5.7。
Scope
- The journal publishes full-length original articles reporting important new observations in physiology and in adjacent fields such as pharmacology and biochemistry.
- Cardiovascular physiology, respiratory physiology, neurophysiology, endocrine physiology and cellular physiology are named as core territory.
- Integrative work that links organ systems, or that combines molecular mechanisms with whole-animal function, is a stated preference.
- Human and translational physiology receive particular emphasis, without excluding comparative and veterinary physiology.
- Advanced experimental methods, among them electrophysiology, imaging and molecular biology, are expected in the papers the journal selects.
- Reviews, commentaries and editorials accompany the research papers and are used to frame controversies in the field.
- The Acta Physiologica Award is given to authors whose papers the editors judge most worthy.
History
- The journal began in 1889 as the Skandinavisches Archiv fur Physiologie, founded for the Scandinavian physiological community and publishing in German.
- It was renamed Acta Physiologica Scandinavica in 1940 and took its present title in 2006, when the scope was widened from a regional to an international one.1940 年更名为(Acta Physiologica Scandinavica),2006 年改用现名,同时把定位从区域性刊物扩展为国际刊物。
- Publication is handled by Wiley, formerly Wiley-Blackwell, on behalf of the Scandinavian Physiological Society, a charitable body that returns surplus to the discipline.
- Twelve issues appear each year, and the journal has long served as the official organ of the Federation of European Physiological Societies.
- The 2025 Journal Impact Factor is 5.7, against 5.6 in 2024 and 7.523 in 2022, and the title ranks 7th of 89 in physiology.2025
- Publication is hybrid, with a subscription route and an open access option for individual papers.
Editors
- Tobias Wang of Aarhus University became editor-in-chief in January 2025, succeeding Pontus B. Persson.(Tobias Wang)于 2025 年 1 月出任主编,接替(Pontus B. Persson)。
- Wang works on comparative cardiovascular and respiratory physiology, particularly in reptiles and amphibians, and on the evolution of cardiorespiratory function.(Tobias Wang)研究比较心血管与呼吸生理,尤以爬行动物与两栖动物为对象,并关注心肺功能的演化。
- The editor is supported by a handling team of subject editors who cover the physiological subdisciplines represented in the journal.
- Because the journal is the organ of a European federation, its editorial pool is drawn mainly from Nordic and wider European laboratories, with international members added.
- Commentaries and editorials are commissioned by the editors rather than submitted unsolicited.
