ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications is a peer-reviewed computer science journal published by the Association for Computing Machinery, founded in 2005 as the flagship journal of the ACM Special Interest Group on Multimedia and covering multimedia computing, communications and applications, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 5.6.《ACM 多媒体计算、通信与应用汇刊》由(Association for Computing Machinery)出版,2005 年创刊,是(ACM)多媒体专委会的旗舰期刊,覆盖多媒体计算、通信与应用,2025 年期刊影响因子为 5.6。
Scope
- The journal focuses on multimedia computing, including input and output devices, operating systems, storage systems, streaming media middleware, continuous media representations, media coding and media processing.
- Multimedia communications form a second pillar, with real-time protocols, end-to-end streaming media, resource allocation and multicast protocols among the named topics.
- Multimedia applications complete the remit, spanning databases, distributed collaboration, video conferencing and three-dimensional virtual environments.
- The title serves as an archival venue for long-form multimedia research, sitting between fast-moving conference proceedings and comprehensive books.
- Recent issues show strong coverage of multimodal large models, three-dimensional reconstruction, action segmentation and person re-identification, reflecting the field's shift towards deep learning.
- Special issues are a regular feature, often grown out of the ACM Multimedia conference and edited by guest editors drawn from the community.
