Achiria

Achiria, also written acheiria, is the inability to recognise or to localise which side of the body has received a tactile stimulus, even though the touch itself is felt with normal intensity.

It belongs to the dyschirias, a group of spatial errors described at the end of the nineteenth century, and it is now understood as a bedside marker of right-hemisphere damage and unilateral neglect rather than as an independent disease.
